Kathmandu University, School of Education (KUSOED) – Department of Language Education organised a workshop titled "Social Entrepreneurship in Nepal and Possible Opportunities" concluded successfully in collaboration with Radiant College, Tilottama–5, Shankarpur, Rupandehi, bringing together English language teachers from different secondary schools and colleges across Rupandehi district.

The workshop was focussed on objective of promoting social entrepreneurship in education while encouraging innovative teaching practices among English language educators. Mr. Laxman Prasad Bhandari, Mr. Surendra Prasad Bhatta, and Mr. Siddhartha Dhungana from Kathmandu University, Department of Language Education, facilitated the workshop. The workshop was highly interactive and participant centred. The participants were encouraged to find out real challenges faced by English language teachers and possible solutions based on Action Research.

The participants raised issues such as lack of attention span, social media addiction, scroll culture, dependency on Artificial Intelligence (AI), emotional vulnerability, and lack of social interaction among students. The workshop opened an opportunity to actively discuss action-based teaching practices, the possible solutions, best practices, proven techniques to maintain healthy teaching and learning experience on changing learning practices in modern time of AI boom. The workshop was fruitful for English language teachers to stay relevant with diverse learners.

The program concluded with positive feedback from the participants, who appreciated the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and develop practical strategies for addressing contemporary challenges in English language education. The workshop reaffirmed the shared commitment of Kathmandu University and Radiant College to strengthening teacher’s skill development and fostering educational excellence.
